Ashiana Public school, Sector 46-A, Chandigarh organized a seminar on the POCSO Act on August 20th, 2025 for students of Classes 9 and 10. It was conducted by Prof. Dr. Manpreet Grewal - Professor & HOD of Chitkara University, Punjab. It aimed to educate students about the act's provisions, legal obligations, and how to create safe environments for children. She discussed in detail about the act throwing light on the definition of sexual offenses against children, child friendly procedures for reporting and evidence gathering and also laid emphasis on the importance of creating safe spaces, both online as well as offline. 

She also touched upon many other topics including child labour, prostitution and drug addiction. Overall, it increased awareness and understanding of the POCSO Act and it's implications, enhanced the student's ability to identify and respond to potential cases of child sexual abuse, and hopefully strengthened their ability to support and protect child victims of sexual offenses.

The speaker was very powerful and had the audience captivated throughout the seminar.
