Trees have been the longest living species on earth providing a link between the past, present and future. As we evolved, they provided us with numerous necessities such as food, oxygen, shelter, medicine and tools. Today, their value continues to increase and more benefits of trees are being discovered as their role expands to satisfy the needs created by our modern lifestyles
Following the tradition of
'My Earth *My responsibility', Dainik Bhaskar, the leading National Hindi Newspaper took the initiative for Tree Plantation drive along with Ashiana Public School Chandigarh to sensitize the children. The Tree Plantation was held at Ashiana Public School, Sector 46A on 31st July 2019.
Ashiana has had a long standing tradition of holding various sessions, workshops and programmes with the aim of preservation of culture, heritage, flora and fauna. In order to sensitize our students towards the need to preserve our environment and ecology, tree plantation drives are organized in the school from time to time. Around 20 trees were planted in and around the school premises. Not only the students but the staff also enthusiastically participated in the Tree Plantation Drive and planted trees like Moringa, Lemon, phalsa, Imli, Pomegranate etc. which are elemental to the ecology of our ecosystem and hold both natural and medicinal value.
